Our Story
: After coaching friends and relatives as a hobby for some time, founder Brandon Heflin began his career as a professional cycling & triathlon coach. During that time he began to notice trends in both equipment and athletes which started the process of developing solutions for athletes that lower the barriers of training and racing.
: Brandon started TriCentric, the company and concept that would evolve into Centric Bikes. Through TriCentric he worked with hundreds of athletes and their equipment to refine the synergies between "man & machine" to achieve optimal results. Many of these athletes were the first to ride on Centric frames and wheels, providing much feedback in the process
: Noticing the last holdout within the big American bike companies finally moved their production of carbon fiber bikes to Asia, he began identifying manufacturers that could potentially become partners to bring a new direct-to-consumer bike brand to market.
: We began producing frames and wheels for our sponsored riders and got valuable feedback to move froward with. We then began to see the full concept coming together where any athlete could buy a great bike & wheelset while still being able to afford coaching, power meter and all of the essentials to reach their potential.
: We launched the brand to the general public and began to sell our first wheels and frames direct to consumers.
: We tried our hand in our first brick and mortar retail store. Though the experience was good, we found that we were bogged down with the functions of a traditional local bike shop.
: We closed the store and refocused on our traditional direct to consumer online model, revealed our new logo, website and narrowed our product line to reflect what we are truly passionate about. We also launched an elite cycling team to get feedback on our frames and wheels directly from the guys that push the limits... we also won the California State Criterium Championship ;-)
: Today we sell exclusively on our website and ship world wide. We own and manage an elite cycling team competing in the biggest USAC and UCI races in North America... we strongly feel that those that can support the competitive sport of cycling should... so we do. Currently we are ramping up to open a new headquarters to handle all aspects of our business which will also include a small retail store to showcase Centric to local customers... stay tuned
